【題目】銀河の進化と宇宙の物質循環 ポスターはこちらから
【要旨】宇宙では、重力で物質が集まり、ガスが冷えることで星形成が起こり、銀河が形成します。形成した星の超新星爆発はアウトフローを引き起こし、ガスや金属が銀河外へ吹き出して宇宙空間を金属汚染します。一方、一部のガスや金属、そして宇宙空間からの始原ガスはインフローにより銀河に再び供給され、新たな星や惑星を生み出します。このインフローとアウトフローによる物質循環の現場であり、銀河本体と宇宙空間の境界が”銀河周辺物質”です。銀河周辺物質は、星形成の元なるガスの貯蔵庫でもあります。ここ20年で銀河本体の統計的理解は進みましたが、銀河周辺の希薄なガスや金属は観測もモデル化も難しく、銀河周辺物質は銀河形成・進化研究のフロンティアとなっています。本講演では、宇宙の歴史や各時代での銀河の特徴を概観し、銀河周辺物質と物質循環の最新の観測と理論研究を紹介します。
